Manchester, NH – From 50 to 500: Mastering the Unique Leadership Challenges of Growing Small Companies fills an important void in leadership development and business growth resources for small businesses. Jonathan Dapra, Jonas Akerman, and the late Richard Dapra saw a great need for applicable leadership development tools for small business leaders interested in propelling business
growth and collaborated to co-write their first book.
In this unique read that offers a free online leadership assessment tool, the authors invite readers to explore the business challenges two typical small business leaders face over a business cycle. Opportunities to evaluate each leader’s decisions and outcomes provide valuable insights into their effectiveness and impact, and tools are provided to strengthen leadership effectiveness and achieve improved organizational results. The authors recognized a significant gap in small business-specific leadership knowledge and wanted to close that gap and provide readers with an experience in which each could better recognize their individual leadership needs and take action to address those needs using highly relevant tools, frameworks, and insights.
Jonathan Dapra said “we thought it was critical this book was more than just a good read – it had to be a tool to enable leaders to begin increasing their leadership impact. The three collaborated and brought together almost 100 years of experience to create the most practical and applicable book for small business leaders. The three authors have known each other for quite some time. Dr. Jonathan Dapra has been a venture capitalist, a small business leader, and is currently a management professor at Plymouth State University, while Jonas Akerman has been a lifelong entrepreneur and former President and founder of BTS USA, a leading global leadership development company. Dr. Richard Dapra was an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. and noted assessment expert. They all shared a passion for small business leadership and making high-quality development tools accessible and affordable to small business leaders. “We want to begin a national conversation about the distinct challenges and business capabilities small business leaders need to produce results within their organizations,” added Jonathan Dapra. Jonas and Jonathan are also the founders of Alaric Inc., a company focused on assisting leaders of small businesses.
